Prayer Requests

Well, we are spending our first weekend away from home. After a week of this adventure we are still going. This week has been exciting, fun, and stressful. We've encountered some pretty big disappointments along the way, and I've had to deal with my attitudes quite a bit concerning cleanliness and expectations. But I've also remembered a time in my walk with God when our relationship was deep and intimate, and have been experiencing the joys of returning to that complete dependence on Him.

This next week will be a whole new ball game as Bryce prepares to install the software in facilities that have only recently heard of it from their corporate headquarters and as some key components to this software are being put in place only hours before he begins. He is up against a lot of pressure.

Please pray for us this week. Pray for Bryce's composure as he deals with people who have avoided computers like the plague and are now being forced into their world by employers, as he deals with tons of last minute loose ends and relies on support and communication miles away.

Please also pray for our health as a family. We spent the day today pretty much just laying around, all of us sick with some form of cold/congestion and all of us completely exhausted. We are entering our 4th week of being sick... and we are all just weary of it. We've amped up the vitamins, antibacterials, hand washing and dish washing, but living in different hotels and eating in different places is not very conducive to our not contracting more germs!

We spend this week traversing Iowa. Elie and Jadon both are very excited to see the Little House on the Prairie in real life... not quite sure how we'll pull that one off, but we are excited about the exploring we get to do:o)

We also got to experience doing laundry in a laundromat today... what an education! The last time I was in one was on outreach in Taiwan... a totally different setting all together. We were in a sketchy part of Des Moines, (it's pretty much the luck of the draw in a city we've never been in before), and I was nervous at first... but everyone was very nice... very helpful when I couldn't figure out how to start a machine... :o) I just had a good laugh at myself. Did you know that there is some unspoken etiquette when it comes to a bunch of strangers washing underwear together in public? (Can I just say that I'm so thankful for it?!) The kids fit right in and made friends easily. What is it that makes adults so much more clumsy at interacting??
